White Bean & Pesto Crostini

A cornerstone of Italian cooking, white beans take center stage for these simple, fresh crostini — perfect for a party.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ small onion, chopped (about ½ cup)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 15 oz white cannellini beans, rinsed (1 can)
  • 2 tablespoons Armanino Basil Pesto
  • 4 slices toasted sourdough or country white bread

Directions

  1. Heat oil in skillet on medium heat. Add onions; sauté 5 minutes or until golden brown. Add garlic; sauté 1 minute. Stir in beans; cook until heated through. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in pesto and serve on toast.

Chef’s Tips

  • Top with sliced prosciutto or crumbled bacon for a heartier snack.
  • For a pop of color and additional flavor, stir in a tablespoon of chopped sun-dried tomatoes.
