Bourbon BBQ Meatballs

Rich with sweet, tangy BBQ sauce and real Bourbon, these meatballs are a dish you’ll want to serve as appetizers at your next get-together.


  • 1 ¼ cups barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ⅓ cup bourbon or whiskey
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped onions
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 lbs Armanino Gourmet Beef Meatballs


  1. Mix all ingredients, except meatballs, in slow cooker until blended.
  2. Add frozen meatballs; stir until coated.
  3. Cook on high 2½ to 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Switch to warm setting to hold for up to 4 hours.

Chef’s Tips

  • Add a splash of water if meatballs appear dry.
  • These meatballs are the perfect appetizer but can also become a main dish: simply serve with hot cooked rice or couscous and a green salad.
